Magnetic nanoparticles are so useful because they can be immobilised and re-suspended easily by moving them in and out of a magnetic field. The simplest way to do this is by using immobilisation racks consisting of magnet arrays, either for a microtube or microplate format.

Despite their simple construction and lack of moving parts, commercially available immobilization racks are surprisingly expensive. However, they can be assembled easily and cheaply in a laboratory setting. The most critical component of the rack are the magnets themselves- in order to achieve rapid separation, it is best to use high-quality neodymium magnets, N42 grade or above.

Color Zinc Plated Rare Earth Cube N52 Neodymium Magnets Features: Neodymium Block Magnets. N52 grade super strong rare earth. Each piece is custom plated with a yellow zinc mirror finish that gives these magnets a rainbow color tone when light hits them. They are extremely cool. The camera doesn’t do them justice. Each piece is measuring just over 4,000 Gauss on the meter. These are being sold as used stock due to having scratches and filings on them from being stored so long. Some pieces will have extremely minor damage such as very small chips on the edges but none have anything significant. The scratches you will see is common for this plating type. This is only cosmetic and does not affect the strength of the magnet. Poles are on the 8mm x 8mm faces. Please review the pictures for further details and ask all questions before purchasing.
