Magnetic therapy also known by the names Magnet Therapy, Magneto Therapy or Magno Therapy is a kind of alternative medical treatment that applies magnet to heal various diseases. It is a simple, effective, economical, safe, entirely painless natural treatment with almost no side effects or complications. Magnetic therapy is regarded both as a science as well as an art, as it involves knowledge about human organisms, various diseases and their treatment with the appropriate usage of magnets. Articles like magnet bracelets or necklaces, bands or belts etc are wrapped around various parts of the body to treat common disease including cough and cold, allergies, acidity, general pain, pain after surgery, low back pain, foot pain, heel pain, neck pain, joint pains, painful menstrual periods, sports injuries, migraine and headache etc. Magnetic insoles, blankets, and slumber pads are also used for magnet therapy. Magnetic blankets are said to reduce stress and promote sleep. Small disc magnets are used around the head to reduce physical and psychological symptoms. These magnets may be worn for just a few minutes or for weeks, depending on the condition being treated. Magnets are also worn for treating water retention, wounds, male sexual performance problems, ringing in the ears , Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), epilepsy, trouble controlling urination (incontinence) and many other conditions. Apart from magnets, magnetized water is being used against painful urination as well as for removing kidney stones.
